This policy explains which cookies and browser storage www.codanuancelegal.com uses, in line with Article 22.2 of Spain's Law 34/2002 (LSSI) and the Spanish Data Protection Agency's guide on the use of cookies.
1. What they are
Cookies and local storage (localStorage) are small pieces of data that a website saves in your browser to remember something between visits.
2. What we use
2.1. Necessary and functional (no consent needed)
These serve something you ask for or keep the website working. They are our own: they are not shared with anyone.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
cn-consent |
Local storage | Remember your cookie choice | 24 months; then we ask you again |
cn-chat-visitor, cn-chat-conversation |
Local storage | Keep your conversation with the AI assistant. Only created if you write in the chat | Until you press "Start over" or clear your browser data |
cn-chat-nudge-seen |
Local storage | Not show you the chat prompt again | Until you clear your browser data |
cn-announcement |
Local storage | Not show you again a notice you have closed | Until you clear your browser data |
cn-tools-herencia |
Local storage | Save your answers to the inheritance guide on your device. They are not sent anywhere; you can delete them with the guide's own button | Until you delete them |
cn_session |
Cookie | Keep the management panel session (authorised firm staff only) | 14 days or until you log out |
2.2. Analytics (only if you accept them)
They help us know how many people visit the website and which pages they use, so we can improve it. They are only used if the firm switches on visit measurement: you will then see the cookie notice the first time you visit, and they are only loaded if you press "Accept" or turn them on in "Settings". If you do not see that notice, measurement is not switched on and nothing is loaded.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga, _ga_<ID> |
Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC) | Tell visits apart and measure how the website is used, with no advertising purpose | Up to 2 years |
If the website uses Plausible Analytics (Plausible Insights OÜ, European Union) instead of Google Analytics, no cookie is set, and it is still only loaded if you accept.
Google may process this data in the United States, with the safeguards explained in the privacy policy.
2.3. Google map
On the contact page, the Google Maps map, when available, only loads if you press "Show the map". When it loads, Google may set its own cookies and receive your IP address, under its privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy).
3. How to accept, reject or change your choice
- If the website uses cookies that need your permission, we ask you the first time you visit. "Reject" is as easy as "Accept".
- In that case, you can change your mind at any time under "Cookie preferences", at the bottom of every page.
- You can also delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings: Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge.
We do not use advertising or social media cookies. The share buttons on articles are plain links: nothing from social networks loads until you press them.
4. More information
